Obituary for Edith Elizabeth Inglis (Lancaster)

Edith Elizabeth Inglis (Lancaster)
INGLIS, Edith
Passed away peacefully at St Luke's Place, Cambridge, on Thursday, January 4, 2018, in her 94th year. Born in Ayr, Scotland 1924. Beloved wife of Robert Inglis. Loving mother to Peter (Patti), Bruce (Jackie), Maureen (John). Predeceased by son Don. Devoted grandmother to Katie (Sean), Sam (Leanne), Jordan (Sheri), Mike (Karolina) and Tom (Amy). Proud great grandmother to 11 great grandchildren. Mom met dad, a Canadian soldier during wartime. They wrote back and forth while dad was on active duty. During the war mom worked as a mechanic on the war planes at Prestwick airport. After the war, our brave mother left her homeland to set sail from Southampton on the Aquitania on June 6th 1947, landing at Pier 21 Halifax. She married dad, the love of her life in Hespeler on June 28, 1947. Celebration of life services will be held at St Luke's Place Auditorium, 1766 Franklin Blvd., Cambridge, on Tuesday, January 9th at 2:30 p.m. Reverend Scott McAndless will officiate. As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. Luke's Place Foundation or a charity of your choice would be appreciated. The family would like to thank the staff at St Luke's Place for the care and compassion that they gave our mother during her stay at St Luke's.
